Indications:

Anovulatory injection

Contraindications:

Pregnancy or suspected. - Lactation (6 weeks postpartum). - Breast cancer (current). - Severe headache (recurrent, including migraine) with focal neurological symptoms. - Severe hypertension (BP> 180/110). - Vascular disease. - Thromboembolic disorders (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism) or stroke (current or history). - Ischemic heart disease or valvular complicated. - Diabetes nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, vascular diseases or diabetes evolution of more than 20 years. - Active hepatitis. - Liver tumors (malignant). - Major surgery with prolonged immobilization.

Adverse reactions:

changes in menstrual bleeding pattern (shorter cycles, spotting, irregular bleeding), dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, transient voltage on the breasts, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, water retention and salt, subclinical changes detected transient hepatic excretion tests, changes in body weight and libido. Dizziness, nervousness, depression, hot flashes, skin reactions such as acne or itching thrombophlebitis, arterial or venous thrombosis, thromboembolic events, stroke, hypertension, neuroretinitis

Interactions:

rifampicin, griseofulvin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, barbiturates, primidone, may reduce the contraceptive effect or cause irregular bleeding, this is true for hormonal contraceptives in general. Hormonal contraceptives may also reduce the effectiveness of treatment with anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, hypnotics, antidiabetics, anticoagulants and antidepressants.
