Indications:

1. Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as otitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, throat and nose infections. 2. Urogenital tract infections, such as urethritis, cystis, pyelonephritis. 3. Skin and soft tissue infections. 4. Bone and joint infections. 5. Other infections: septecaemia, peritonitis, postoperative infections.

Contraindications:

1. It is not indicated in: 2. Patients who are allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporine group. 3. Infections caused by Herpes group virus, as it increases the skin symptoms. 4. In lymphatic leukemia. 5. In concomitant administration with Allopurinol.

Adverse reactions:

This medicine should not be given with Allopurinol as it increases the skin reaction symptoms.

Interactions:

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (more often in children than in adults), indigestion, urticaria rash, erythematous rash, and rarely raise of ALAT and ASAT, renal infection, hepatitis anemia, prolonged blood coagulation time. Cholestatic jaundice have been reported, which necessitates the discontinuation of treatment.

Warnings:

Pregnancy : It can be given during pregnancy, when necessary, under physician’s supervision as no teratogenic effects to the fetus have been reported . Lactation : The drug passes through the breast milk.
