Indications:

used in treatment of different forms of psoriasis, chronic eczema, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus, skin diseases if other corticosteroids where not effective.

Contraindications:

* Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation * Acne rosacea * Peri oral dermatitis * Bacterial, viral or fungal skin infections * Genital and perianal itching * Pregnancy * Lacataion period * In children before the second year The preparation is intended for short term use. In certain cases the course of treatment may be repeated. The treatment should be monitored by a health care professional. The skin should be cleaned before application.

Adverse reactions:

There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Dermovate cream will experience it or any other. The side-effects include: * Burning * Skin itching * Steroidal acne * Skin dryness In long-term treatment: * Skin atrophy * Local hirsutism * Pigmentation problems * Decrease in barrier function of skin If used on large surfaces then systemic side-effects can exert: * Gastritis * Gastro-intestinal ulcers * Increased intra-ocular pressure * Symptoms of hypercorticism

Interactions:

None well documented.

Warnings:

Avoid long-term therapy esp in infant & childn; avoid prolonged application to face, w/draw if there is spread of infection; avoid contact w/ eyes. Supervise patients w/ psoriasis. Pregnancy.
