Computer Monitor Corrects Your Body Posture

Computer Monitor Corrects Your Body Posture

(ePharmaNews) – If you are sick that your wife, your family and your friends always give advises about your weight, smoke and your health, prepare for the worse, as your computer monitor will start to give advices too. Philips has launched a monitor that suggests the most appropriate posture to your body in front of the computer.

This monitor, which the manufacturer says that it produced “for a healthy, productive workplace ",is the first of its kind globally that has a technology called "ErgoSensor" which is embedded in the monitor to sense and measure the user's behavior, and give corrective advises, for example, sit up straight or keep an appropriate distance away from the screen.

This monitor has user presence detection with behavior feedback, neck posture detection with corrective advice, optimal viewing distance measurement and a time-break reminder.
”Work should be suited to people, and not the other way around.” Says the manufacturer.
The monitor also reduces up to 80% of energy consumption by turning off when the user is not present in front of it; the monitor is eco-friendly as 65% of used materials are recycled.

The number of computers used around the world reached more than one billion in 2008, and a recent study in Europe found that the average computer use is three hours a day and that 50% of people in Europe use the computer for five hours a day.

Many previous studies have talked about the harmful effects of prolonged use of computers and such as backaches, neck pain, wrist pain, headaches and eye strain. Most of these symptoms are avoidable if the user sticks to a healthy posture, as will be suggested by this modern screen.
